UNDERSTAND ISLAM

                 UNDERSTAND ISLAM

The principle of pillars of Islam

From Abu Abdirrahman, Abdullah bin Umar ibn Al-Khathab radhiallahu 'anhuma said: I heard the Messenger of Allah said: "Islam was founded on five cases namely testifying that there is no rightful person to be worshiped correctly except Allah and Muhammad is the messenger of Allah, establishing prayers, issuing zakat , doing the pilgrimage to the temple and fasting in the month of Ramadan ".

[Bukhari no.8, Muslim no.16]

There are five pillars of Islam, namely:

1. Say two sentences of creed; meaning that there is no God who is obliged to be worshiped, but Allah, and acknowledges that the Prophet Muhammad was a Messenger of Allah.
2. Working five prayers a day and night.
3. Issue zakat.
4. Fasting in Ramadan.
5. Build the Hajj for those who are able.

1. Saying the Two Sentences of Syadahat

The first requirement for someone to become a Muslim is to say two sentences of creed. the meaning of the Creed is to speak with the tongue, justify it by heart and practice it through its actions. The sound of 2 sentences of creed is:

أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا رَسُوْلُ اللهِ

Asyhadu an laa ilaaha illallāh wa asyhadu anna Muhammadarrasuulullāh. '

Meaning: ‘I testify that there is no god but Allah and I testify that Muhammad is an apostle (messenger) of Allah. '

2. Perform Prayer Fardhu 5 Time

The second pillar of Islam is prayer. As a Muslim, he has the obligation to perform Fardhu prayer 5 times. (dawn, zuhur, ashar, magrib and insya). If he does not perform prayer, he is not called Islam. Because prayer is the pillar of religion, and the most important is to be ended later.

The commandment of prayer is mentioned in the Qur'an Surat al-ankabut verse 45:

اتل ما أوحي إليك من الكتاب وأقم الصلاة إن الصلاة تنهى عن الفحشاء والمنكر ولذكر الله أكبر والله يعلم ما تصنعون

Meaning: "Read what has been revealed to you rather than the Book and establish prayer; in fact the prayer prevents the evil and the evil. And truly remembering God is greater. And Allah knows whatever you do. "(Surat al-Ankabut: 45)

3. Fasting in the month of Ramadan

The third pillar of Islam is fasting in the month of Ramadan. Fasting is refraining from everything that cancels fasting from dawn to sunrise.

Meaning:

"O ye who believe, are obliged for you to fast as required of the people before you so that you fear" (QS. Al Baqarah: 183)

4. Paying Alms for Alms

The fourth pillar of Islam is paying zakat. Zakat is something that must be issued by someone to certain people with certain qadar.

Zakat is 2, namely:
first: zakat fitrah which is zakat which must be issued by a Muslim during the Eid-ul-Fitr (the end of the month of Ramadan) in the form of staple food which he eats daily.

Second: zakat mal yautu zakat from commercial products, which must be issued by someone if it reaches Nisab.

Meaning:

"And establish prayer, give zakat and ruku'lah along with those who bow '."

5. Carry out the Hajj for those who are able

The last pillar of Islam is carrying out the Hajj. This is specifically for people who are already capable of assets.

The command to carry out the Hajj in the Al-Quran Surat Ali imran verse 97:

فيه آيات بينات مقام إبراهيم ومن دخله كان آمنا ولله على الناس حج البيت من استطاع إليه سبيلا ومن كفر فإن الله غني عن العالمين

Meaning:

"For him there are real signs, (among them) ma'am Ibrahim; whoever enters them (Baitullah) becomes safe for him; doing hajj is the duty of man to Allah, that is (for) people who are able to travel to the House. Hajj), then Allah is Rich (does not need anything) from the universe. "
